The Fabric of our lives- The Fabindia Story

Most of us own a Fabindia product, garments, bedspreads, tables… yet how many of us know the story. To mark the fifthieth anniversary of Fabindia, the story of Fabindia was unearthed, written by Radhika Singh. It recites the story of how John Bissell, founder of Fabindia, made a brand out of an export handloom business. The book revolves around the complex history of the company any how it managed to bind social cause and its profit margins.

‘It seems contradictory that we pursue both profit and a social goal, but I believe that is the only way to do it.’—William Bissell

I believe this would be a great book to read for any Fabindia enthusiast! For those of you who have read it, please feel free to comment. I’m definitely excited to read this book, capturing the story of a remarkable journey. I also found a great article on the book, here.
