Recently I’ve had this desire to know all about block printing. Living in India, you come across these beautifully crafted fabrics all around you. The thing I love the most about block printing is that there is a rigorous process involved in this. The blocks generally made from seasoned teak wood or metal, are artistically carved by the craftsmen.Different natural pigments are used depending on the type of technique required. India exports a large quanitity of block printed fabric yearly, and the fabrics have found themselves a niche. There are alot of companies within India that create these beautiful fabrics .i.e. Anokhi. I loved the second design, the colors and the print! ooh! I went and got a kurta for myself! Anokhi has a fab pallete of colors, in light breezy cotton fabrics.
